CrossFit Liftoff

If you follow CrossFit HQ, you probably saw the announcements for the CrossFit Liftoff recently. This was a weekend-long online, worldwide competition for who could perform the heaviest 1 RM Snatch and 1 RM Clean & Jerk based on body weight. This was unlike a regular lifting competition, however, because it also included a CrossFit workout - a 12 min AMRAP with pull-ups, rowing, box jumps, and OHS. So the strongest person was not necessarily going to be the winner.

If you get a chance to check out the results here, watch some of the submitted videos. I've included one below of 19-year old Sasha Nievas clean and jerking (push jerking!!!) 257 pounds. It is inspiring to watch these lifters crush extremely heavy weights! (She also snatched 202 pounds - no big deal)
